The Maple Street area does have a boat launch, and most anglers will use this to launch their boats. There isn’t a lot of fishing going on here. They launch their boats and go further downstream to the Orleans Park area or upstream to the deeper waters.
Upstream, after the bend, the water deepens. Here you can have depths of 5-8 feet and you can only access these areas by boat. Most of the Maumee River is 2-5 feet in depth in areas where we fish. So 8 feet deep is pretty deep.
We have caught a few fish here just fishing from shore, and it can be done, but the timing has to be right.
