Most walleye anglers haven’t even heard of anything this far downstream, but this is a productive area that holds large fish.

This is on the south side, just downstream of the Orleans area. The transition from Orleans Park to Hood Park, the water is still in the 1-3 foot depth range, depending on water levels.

To fish this area, you can still cast from shore, or use a boat. You can use the Orleans Park ramp or Maple Street ramp.

There is a dock at Hood Park, but no boat launching area. You can tie your boat to the dock and go exploring, but you have to launch your boat from somewhere else.
